Age-Friendly Bowling Green

A project between WCCOA and the BGSU Gerontology program will explore the issue of age-friendly communities by using a technique of capturing photos of the community. The goal is to assess how friendly Bowling Green is to the aging population and to advocate for changes to make BG a great place to age.

Components of the project include an information session, follow-up interviews and discussion about age-friendly BG. Will begin in mid-January. Cameras will be made available to participants.

Newsies musical (dress rehearsal) presented by Bowling Green High School

Newsies is based on the true story of the New York Newsboy Strike of 1899. This new Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys' expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action

These gatherings will have participants experience interaction in a relaxing and engaging environment. Participation will aim to foster fellowship, promote the exploration of the Arts; dance, painting, drawing, music and movement. Relaxation techniques, social interaction and cognitive stimulation will also be provided. The program fee is $5 per person.
